Mr. John Sonnerdale, vice-consul for Sweden, died at his home in Bundarra Avenue, Wahroonga,on Thursday (4th January 1945). He was 85.He came to Australia In 1885, and
for 32 years was a marine engineer with Huddart, Parker, Ltd. He founded Sonnerdale Propty., Ltd., Petersham, in 1911, and some years later started the first plant in Australia for the manufacture of Sonnerdale motor car transmission and rear axle gears. The firm is now one of the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth."
