The Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue states "This reproduction was printed in recess by the government Stamp Printing Works of Paris, apparently in connection with efforts by the French authorities to sell Chambon intaglio printing equipment to the Note Printing Branch. (Melbourne)"
