Australia 1973 (02 Nov) Space Cover with brown on white cachet "DUPLEX OVAL/AUSTRALIAN AEROBEE/EXPEDITION OCT-NOV 1973/NASA/GSFC/IMAGES MAP OF AUSTRALIA/KANGAROO HOLDING ROCKET" (The Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is a major NASA space research laboratory located approximately 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Washington, D.C.) and with turquoise text " ROCKET: 13.103 UG./LAUNCHTIME/ 0200 WOOMERA DAYLIGHT/TIME/ACTUAL PEAK: 108.6 MILES/ LOSS OF SIGNAL: 925 SECONDS/SCAMA LINK UNUSABLE, USED COM-/MERCIAL LINE EXPERIMENTER, GOT 30/SECONDS ON LAST SCAN" unaddressed and affixed with 7c Sturt`s Desert Pea cancelled "WOOMERA/-2NO73/SA-AUST". An Agreement between the Government of Australia and the Government of the United States of America regarding the Launching of Three Aerobee Rockets was established in Canberra, March 1970. A similar treaty was agreed to in 1973 for 7 launches, and in 1977 for 6 launches for various astronomical and solar experiments conducted by NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The Aerobee rocket was a small (8 m) unguided suborbital sounding rocket used for high atmospheric and cosmic radiation research in the United States in the 1950s
