"NIGHT PATROL Dies Just Before Sale Soon after having been placed In his box at Mackinnon and Cox's yards at Newmarket yesterday, the imported stal- lion The Night Patrol, who was 23 years old, dropped dead from heart failure. He had arrived by motor-float from Nagambie, and later was to have been offered for sale at the dispersal of The Nook Fix this text Stud. Imported from England in 1924 by Lord Stradbroke, The Night Patrol was a splendid racehorse in England and Australia, lils stake winnings amounting to more than £10,000. His principal wins here were Cantala Stakes, C. M. Lloyd Stakes, In which he easily defeated Heroic: Lin- lithgow Stakes (twice), C. F. Orr Stakes. William Reid Stakes, and W. S. Cox Plate. At one time he held the Australasian record for six and a half furlongs. When his career on the Turf had ended in 192G he was sold to the late Mr. Gerald Buckley, of the Rock House stud, Kyneton, for 10,000 guineas."
