| "RELIEF NO. 9/30JE69/T.P. & N.G." (Southern Highlands Province) and Registration label "R/MENDI, T.P. N. G./NO. 9166" on 30c Murex on registered cover to Henley Beach S.A. with backstamps "RELIEF NO. 9", "BOROKO", "ADELAIDE" and "HENLEY BEACH". RELIEF CDS R-9 was introduced about 25 June 1969 as growth of post office business at Mendi apparently required a second canceller. The Department of Posts and Telegraphs stated that R-9 remained at Mendi until 25 September 1969 but it may not have been used after 23 September 1969. R-9 is known used in the Telegraph Office on 25 June 1969.
