RELIEF CDS R-9 was introduced about 25 June 1969 as growth of post office business at Mendi apparently required a second canceller. The Department of Posts and Telegraphs stated that R-9 remained at Mendi until 25 September 1969 but it may not have been used after 23 September 1969. R-9 is known used in the Telegraph Office on 25 June 1969.
